Canary House
Updated on August 22, 2021
Introducing Canary House by Dream and Kilmer Group – the latest phase of the popular Canary District development that is transforming the east end of downtown Toronto.
Development Details – Canary House
Canary House condos will rise out of the historic Canary House building that has stood on the corner of Front Street and Cherry Street since 1859. The classic façade of the historic building will be retained and the building itself will be restored and incorporated into the new condo.
The condo building has 13 storeys and 206 residential suites. The suites begin from 461 sq. ft. in floor space and have 1-bedroom, 1-bedroom plus den, 2-bedroom, 2-bedroom plus den, 3-bedroom, and 3-bedroom plus den layouts. Amenities inside Canary House condos include a library, pet spa, fitness room, entertainment room, party room, dining room, and a garden terrace with BBQ lounge and fire pit.
Neighbourhood Details
Canary House is located in the Canary District – a 35-acre master-planned community that started out as the athletes’ village for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am games. The community has a 19-acre park, several completed condo buildings, and a variety of amenities that make it almost like a city within a city. It’s proximity to the rest of downtown Toronto and the lakeshore makes it a highly-desirable location. That demand will only grow as the port lands and East Bayfront area continue to develop and transform new mixed-use neighbourhood with office space for tens of thousands of workers.
It’s an area close to just about everything you could need and with some of the best transit options in the city. That’s why the location gets near-perfect walk and transit scores of 94/100 and 99/100 respectively. With a bike score of 71/100 and close access to both the DVP and Gardiner Expressway, there are even more ways to get around – making this a great starting point for any journey within the GTA or even farther afield.
