The Well Condos by Tridel – the residential project at the heart of one of the most exciting and ambitious developments in Toronto.
The Well is a huge, mixed-use development on land that borders Front Street West, Spadina Avenue and Wellington Street West. The masterplan for The Well includes three residential condos by Tridel, three residential rental buildings by Woodbourne Capital Management and RioCan Real Estate Investment, plus office and retail buildings by RioCan Real Estate Investment and Allied Properties REIT.
The three towers that make up Well Condos by Tridel are known as buildings C, D and E within the project. Building C faces onto Wellington Street and is a 14-storey mid-rise condo with 99 units. According to the planning application, 87 of those units are two-bedroom layouts and the remainder will have three or more bedrooms. Buildings D and E face Front Street West and are 22 and 39 storeys respectively. There are 258 and 401 units in these two buildings, with one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts included in the development plans.
As can be seen form the renderings, some of the residential buildings stand on top of broad office and retail buildings, with wide walkways in-between. The plans for The Well envision impressive shopping and eating areas that sit under a beautiful atrium which will protect patrons from the elements. Meanwhile, the 1,067,000 sq. ft. office tower at the east side of The Well has already secured major tenants like Index Exchange and more are likely to follow. With so many elements coming together, The Well is truly going to be a place to live, work and play.
The Well Condos site on the edge of Toronto’s Fashion District, which puts it at the heart of some of the most exciting and popular areas in Toronto. Within 10 minutes walking distance, you’ll find Toronto highlights like the theatres on King Street, TIFF Bell Lightbox, the CN Tower, the Rogers Centre and Lake Ontario. Beyond that there’s even more to see, do and enjoy.
Of course, it’s more than just the highlights. As The Well is located in such a well-established area, the neighbourhood has all the amenities you might need. There are streetcar services running down Spadina Avenue on dedicated rights of way. On nearby King Street, the recent pilot has now been made permanent, which gives priority to streetcars with the aim of quicker journeys for passengers. There are also nearby subway and train services that can be easily reached.
Of course, it’s not all about transit and the option for car drivers is pretty impressive as there is an entrance to the Gardiner Expressway just two minutes away from The Well – allowing a quick exit form the city.
