You’ll find more retail locations on the other three corners of that major intersection, with two supermarkets and a variety of restaurant among the residents of the junction. Venture a little further down Steeles Avenue, about five minutes’ drive from Southside Townhomes, and you’ll find a massive shopping plaza with a Cineplex, Costco, Wal-Mart and many other major retailers and restaurants. Altogether, it puts most of the amenities you need within easy reach.

Just beyond Hurontario, there are a great number of recreational options. The area boasts two golf clubs and the Powerade Centre which, in addition to being a major concert venue, has facilities for ice hockey, ball hockey, baseball, cricket, rugby, paintball and even kabaddi.

Head in the opposite direction to Shoppers World and there are more amenities within easy walking distance. Just a few minutes away you’ll find an entrance to Peelton Hills Park, which is part of a connected series of five parks. Further down Steeles on the corner of McLaughlin Rd South there are educational opportunities at the Davis Campus of Sheridan College.

Transport

Southside Townhomes has great transport links, whether you travel by car or public transport. At Shoppers World, there is a transit terminal, with options to use the Züm rapid transit services on Steeles Avenue and Main St (the continuation of Hurontario St).

For drivers, Highways 410 and 407 are just a five-minute drive away, allowing you to easily connect to the rest of the GTA and further afield. Meanwhile, Pearson Airport can be reached in 15 minutes and from there the world is your oyster!
